As some have you may have noticed, I am a vegetarian. You're probably fed up with me talking about it, but really, compared to some, I'm pretty quiet about it
At a wedding last week, it came up, as I had to have different food, and then the conversation moved on to did I eat fish, fishing, and then the way to prepare fish. I watch a LOT of River Cottage, for I love Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall to bits, and said something about carp being a muddy fish, as it's fresh water, and so you have to cleanse it in running water before you eat it, for about a week (the things you learn as an Insomniac).
Dave (the guy I was talking to about it) said that it was odd that I like River Cottage, cos Hugh eats all of the animal, every bit of meat you can get off it.
And, thinking about it, it is a bit weird.
But the thing is, Hugh does eat ALL of it. And surely that's respectful? To let it grow up, happy as can be, looked after well, fed well, loved, and then using all of it, letting none of it go to waste.
If I ate meat, surely offal is the way to go?
Meat eaters. What do you think?
Offal doesnt taste good, thats why nobody likes eating it... except the scottish ie. Haggis
